CANDELA NORDLYS IPL FAQ’s
-
Most clients describe the treatment as feeling like a quick elastic snap or warm flick on the skin. Thanks to the built-in cooling technology, the treatment is very well tolerated and much more comfortable than traditional IPL systems
-
While you may notice visible improvements after just one session, we usually recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart for best results. This allows for gradual improvement in skin tone, texture, and clarity.
-
One of the main benefits of Nordlys IPL is that there’s minimal to no downtime. You may experience some redness or mild warmth post-treatment, similar to light sunburn, but this typically settles within a few hours. You can return to your normal activities straight after.
-
While IPL is best performed during months when you have minimal sun exposure, it can still be done safely in summer if you are diligent with SPF and avoid tanning before and after your treatments. We’ll advise you during your consultation if it's the right time for you to start.
-
Nordlys IPL is suitable for treating the face, neck, chest (décolletage), hands, and shoulders – anywhere that shows signs of sun damage, redness, or pigmentation.
-
IPL is not suitable for individuals who are pregnant, have very dark skin tones (Fitzpatrick V-VI), or who are taking photosensitising medication.
During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and medical history to ensure it’s a safe and suitable option for you.
